Frozen to golden
How to cook Argentum empanadas at home.
Bake frozen Argentum empanadas at 190°C for 18 to 22 minutes, or air-fry at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes. No thawing needed. Rest them for five minutes before serving.
The short version
No thawing. No guesswork.
Argentum empanadas are delivered frozen so the pastry can crisp while the filling heats through. Go straight from freezer to oven or air fryer, in a single layer. For a deeper golden finish, brush lightly with egg yolk, neutral oil or milk before cooking.
190°C
Oven, fan-forced or conventional. Bake from frozen for 18 to 22 minutes.
180°C
Air fryer. Cook from frozen for 12 to 15 minutes, checking the edges towards the end.
5 minutes
Rest before serving so the filling settles and the first bite is not too hot.
These timings apply to Carnivore, Maverick, Athlete, Classic, Patagonia and Habibi Yalla. Cook from frozen and look for a deep golden pastry with a firm, dry base.
The reliable method
From freezer to table.
- Preheat fully. Set the oven to 190°C or air fryer to 180°C.
- Keep them frozen. Place empanadas in a single layer, with space around each one. Do not thaw first.
- Brush if you want extra colour. A light brush of egg yolk, neutral oil or milk helps the pastry brown.
- Cook until deeply golden. Oven: 18 to 22 minutes. Air fryer: 12 to 15 minutes. Times vary slightly by appliance, so use colour and a firm base as your final check.
- Rest for five minutes. The filling is much hotter than the pastry, and the short rest makes the texture better too.

Cooking questions
Everything you need before the oven goes on.
Do I thaw empanadas before baking?
No. Cook Argentum empanadas straight from frozen. Thawing can soften the pastry before it has time to crisp and hold the filling.
How do I know when empanadas are done?
Look for a deep golden, slightly burnished pastry and a firm, dry base. If the filling begins to bubble at the seam, it is fully hot. Rest for five minutes before eating.
Can I cook them in an air fryer?
Yes. Air-fry from frozen at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes in a single layer. Check the edges towards the end because air fryers brown quickly.
How should I reheat baked empanadas?
Reheat in an oven at 170°C for 8 to 10 minutes, or in an air fryer at 160°C for 4 to 5 minutes. Avoid microwaving because it softens the pastry.
How long do frozen empanadas keep?
Frozen Argentum empanadas keep for up to six months at -18°C.
