Sydney bring-a-plate guide
An office Christmas potluck: bring one dish that fits the table.
For an office Christmas potluck, agree on your contribution, check how many people it needs to serve and confirm whether food can be cooked or reheated at work. Empanadas can be a savoury contribution, but a frozen box needs an oven or air fryer before it can be served.
A potluck is not a full catering order.
At a potluck, each person contributes part of the meal. Your dish does not necessarily need to feed the whole office as a main course. Ask the organiser what is already covered, which dietary needs still need attention and whether the table needs savoury food, sides or dessert.
This is different from booking Christmas party catering, where one organiser plans the complete menu. Keep the contribution proportionate and make sure it fills a gap instead of duplicating three other dishes.
Choose something you can actually serve at work.
Start with the office facilities and the event time. If there is no suitable cooking equipment, do not turn up with a frozen box and assume somebody can prepare it. Ask Argentum about a baked option and confirm availability and timing for your order, or choose another dish that suits the setup.
If the office has an appropriate oven or air fryer, agree who will use it and when. Check the flavour-specific cooking guide; a shared appliance may need more than one batch, and lunch should not depend on equipment that is already in use.

Argentum Chef’s Box
Twenty frozen empanadas across the five flavours listed on this product. This is a cooking-at-home or suitable-office-kitchen option, not ready-to-eat catering.

If the table already has a main dish, empanadas can form one savoury part of the spread. If the event is replacing lunch and few other substantial dishes are planned, tell the organiser before deciding how much to bring.
For an illustrative planning calculation, 20 empanadas shared between 10 people gives two each; the same box between 20 people gives one each. That arithmetic is not a promise of a complete meal. Appetite, other food and the length of the event all matter. The portion guide helps distinguish a light bite from lunch.
Do not assume a mixed box contains all six flavours in the wider range. Check the current listed contents. If you want Maverick specifically, view the Maverick pack separately.
Make dietary information easy to find.
Tell the organiser what you are bringing and retain the current ingredient and allergen information. Label the confirmed vegetarian or vegan option clearly, and follow the supplier’s handling advice.
The Classic is vegetarian and Patagonia is vegan. Argentum does not offer gluten-free empanadas. A mixed box does not automatically cover every dietary need, so ask before buying for someone with an allergy or another specific requirement.
Bring the practical items your contribution needs, such as suitable serving utensils and napkins, if these are not supplied centrally. Agree on responsibility rather than assuming reception or the office manager will sort it out.
The bring-a-plate checklist.
- Confirm the date, serving time and number of people sharing your contribution.
- Ask which part of the menu is still needed.
- Check dietary requirements and ingredient information.
- Choose ready-to-serve food or make a realistic oven/air-fryer plan.
- Confirm transport, receiving and serving arrangements.
- Tell the organiser exactly what you will bring.
Browse the six-flavour empanada range for a self-cook contribution. If you are organising the whole office meal rather than bringing one dish, use Argentum catering. For a non-work gathering, the Friendsmas food guide covers the wider hosting plan.
Christmas opening hours, order availability and delivery arrangements should be confirmed directly. Do not assume an ordinary trading or delivery schedule applies to your event.
